I haven't switched my G70 on in about 2 weeks until now and unfortunately the C key below middle C is completed dead... absolute no sound at all coming from it and its not even registering midi data.

I have turned the machine off 4 times and re booted it but still no go...

Has this ever happened to any one?? What should I do?

Thanks
Nick

Check and see if a midi kb can sound that "C". If so, then your key contact is probably dead. $35-50 part to fix, but a bit labor intensive.

Go you your local music shop
and let them order from Roland a new rubber thats under the key its teared up needs to be replaced you can do that very easy your self roland opens up very easy then you take the screws of the keys remove print and there are the rubber thingies you can also replace a note you never use if you like then you can do it right away !

Play in Db. Sorry. I couldn't help it.

I had a similar problem with an Ensoniq keyboard . As mentioned above,it's most likely a worn contact . I didn't fix mine myself but gave the keyboard to a friend for his son. He took it apart and replaced all the rubber contacts and it was fine. He was a member of my motorcycle club and was great working on bikes so I'm guessing it's a basic fix and doesn't require any electronic knowledge. Good luck.

I've had key contact strips go bad before on some of my keyboards...if your handy just order the parts from the manufacturer open the KB up and replace,....if not have a service tech do it not a big deal ....
if one starts to go more will follow..only means you play your KB alot....good luck
